Welcome to the Kurtz Family! I am from south Georgia but married a NOLA boy. He swept me off my feet and moved me to the great state of Louisiana. Together we've created a precious family of two sweet boys.... only 14.5 months apart. We are busy! Brooks is silly, giggly and so much fun! Parker is sweet, cuddly, and so loving. You wouldn't know it by looking at him, but Parker has a rare disease called Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. We are learning to deal with CVS as a family and keep Parker as healthy as possible!

BIG POST

Fifty-five blog posts in 4 years.. and not one of them since July! Yes, it's been a while. I have always been someone who likes to push myself to my limits (I'm sure that's not a shock :)). With baby boys to raise, marathons to run (and fundraise!), a business to own and a full time job, I can honestly say that I cannot fit one more single thing on my plate. I am finally as busy as I truly like to be. With all of that, I have not had a chance to update our blog. So let's begin.

June
Oh sweet, dear, loveable Brooksie! Brooksie celebrated his 3rd birthday with the coolest shark party in June!  Brooks has a crazy obsession with sharks, so this was a perfect celebration for him. He had a blast! And I loved planning this cool party for my big boy!
Shark party! Na-na, na-na, na-na...

July-August
In July we celebrated by going to the beach. TWICE. Boys are no longer afraid of the ocean. Parker likes to eat sand. They had a ball!
We spent the 4th of July at the zoo!

Parker loved the water spout!

At the end of the month, Parker got rid of his paci. Look at that sweet smile!

September
In September the Kurtz boys started school! This was Brooks' second year and Parker's first. They go two mornings a week and LOVE it! Also in September, baby Parker turned TWO! We celebrated with a farm party... complete with farm animals! The boys thought it was fantastic!

October
In October, we celebrated all things FALL & Halloween! The boys went to Mrs. Heather's pumpkin patch and LOVED it! They also joined me for a half marathon to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
My sweet boys cheered on their Mama at the Gulf Coast Half Marathon!

 Beautiful orange pumpkins.

Trick-or-Treat from two little dinosaurs (note: they were not supposed to be the same thing.. Brooksie's costume came in and didn't fit).

November
November was very adventuresome. I was able to fulfill a dream and run the NYC marathon. I hope my boys are runners one day! The very next week, we had a death in the family and traveled to SC to stay with Mema. Even though the circumstances were sad, we were glad to visit Mema and Papa!

Happy Fall Y'all!

December
December came and we've been busier than ever! It always goes by way too quickly. I love everything about the holiday season with these two boys... decorating anything that stands still, looking at Christmas lights, teaching them about Jesus, buying them way too many presents, and watching their excited little faces. We had a wonderful Christmas Season.
Mema & Papa and all 5 of the grand-boys!

Our church, St Thomas More, during the Christmas Season. Breathtaking.

Summer

Happy Summer!! The boys are having a GREAT summer! They do so many activities... visits to the zoo, the museum, library time, jump houses, the park, and of course plenty of time in the water. Brooks is not afraid of water anymore! He's really come a long way. I guess seeing wild animal Parker splashing in the pool all the time makes it seem more fun. We haven't gone on an official beach trip yet, but will be taking TWO trips soon. I'm excited!!! The boys are at a fun age this year.

To start, Brooksie is POTTY TRAINED!!! Hip hip hooray! It was actually way easier than I anticipated. You never know with Brooks! He also just turned THREE and had a really fun shark-themed birthday party (another post). Right now Brooks is into sharks, going to the park, singing and praying (it's both sweet and hysterical the things he prays for). We are trying to work on letter recognition. At this point he will only tell me C is for cookie. Go figure!

Parker is just as sweet as usual. He's talking SO well for his age! His manners are amazing!!  He is the first to say thank you, excuse me, please, and love you. Really, Parker could wear a halo. He's that sweet. :) Right now Parker is into singing, dancing, baby sign language (he especially likes to sign "eat"... see a pattern??), Blues Clues, and playing in his pool. He's also pretty good at counting. Parker has also recently started doing the sign of the cross at bedtime as well. It is PRECIOUS! Enjoy the pics!

Parker.... always having fun... doing is own thing!

Big boys playing on their car.

Million dollar smile! He's lucky he's so cute!!!

Spring!

I had sooooo many pictures that I've been waiting to share. Brooksie's Spring school program, his Easter party, both boys on Easter, Parker's 1st haircut, etc... Unfortunately, my car was broken into a couple of weeks ago and I've lost these precious memories. Luckily, most of our pictures were backed up on the computer.... we only lost the last few months. But STILL, it stinks!

Precious Parker... look at that big boy haircut!

Picnic at the park.

BCK makes sleeping a challenge these days.

Watch out! Parker's driving!

So sweet! Nanny was brave, took them to the zoo, and captured this sweet moment.

I got home from work this week to Parker dressed like this. They love Diego undies. If only they loved them enough to work on potty training!

We've got a little naked peeping tom at our house!

Big boy enjoying Saturday morning waffles outside. Love that million dollar smile.

Sweet brothers.

My handsome big man on the train.

Beautiful baby Parker had fun too!

Kurtz Family Holidays!

I'm posting ALL of the recent holidays!! All of our Christmas celebrations, New Year's, Bahamas vacation, Mardi Gras, and Valentine's Day... all rolled into one!

Brooks and Parker are growing so fast! Brooks went from only saying a few words to talking in sentences. He says everything! And never stops! He knows several of his colors, numbers 1-10, spanish numbers 1-5, and of course his ABCs. Brooksie LOVES to sing!! He sang Christmas carols forever... our favorites being "Oh Christmas Tree"and "Jingle Bells."As for Parker, he wants to be just like big brother! Parker sings a jumbled verson of his ABCs and Happy Birthday. He's also started talking too. He says, mama, dada, Parker, bro bro, thank you, excuse me, more, cheese, and just about anything you say, he repeats! He's also an extremely big dare devil. We've had to baby proof in ways we never thought to with Brooks. Parker is a climber! Speaking of climbers, Brooksie finally learned how to climb out of that baby bed. His crib is now converted to a big boy, toddler bed.

As for Chad and I, we really enjoyed all of the holidays with the boys. Chad and Brooks' favorite was definitely Mardi Gras!! Yes, I'm raising REAL Louisiana boys. They loved every single aspect of Mardi Gras. Most especially king cake and parades. Chad and I finally spent the night away from the boys and took a much needed vacation to the Bahamas. Mema flew in to keep the boys. The trip was perfect. Chad and I completed the Marathon Bahamas together! It was a hot race but an amazing experience. Sadly, our nanny Bryce also had to leave us this past month. Thankfully we now have nanny Savannah and the boys adjusted wonderfully. Now for tons of pictures!

So excited to see Christmas decorations!
