Welcome to the Kurtz Family! I am from south Georgia but married a NOLA boy. He swept me off my feet and moved me to the great state of Louisiana. Together we've created a precious family of two sweet boys.... only 14.5 months apart. We are busy! Brooks is silly, giggly and so much fun! Parker is sweet, cuddly, and so loving. You wouldn't know it by looking at him, but Parker has a rare disease called Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. We are learning to deal with CVS as a family and keep Parker as healthy as possible!

Six Months Old!!!

My sweet baby is 6 months old... and he has had the BUSIEST month yet! We just left the doctor from his 6 month appointment. This precious ham weighs 21 pounds 14 ounces and is 26 inches long. This keeps him in the 95% for weight and 50% for height. According to his doctor this means, "he is just perfect." I couldn't agree more!

Brooks celebrated his first Christmas the entire month of December! He celebrated 3 times... an early Christmas in SC, then Christmas in NOLA, and then home with Mommy and Daddy. We started with two weeks in SC to stay with his Mema and Papa. I was a little nervous about flying with him by myself but he was perfectly happy and behaved both there and back. Nothing to it! We had a wonderful two weeks with my parents. They just loved waking up to this laughs and giggles each day! This was the first time my brother Robert, sister-in-law Debbie, and my 3 nephews have met Brooks. What a happy visit for all of us!! While there, Brooks was also able to meet my dear cousin Kelly (who is expecting baby Maddox), and two of my very best friends, Heather and Jessica (along with baby Dallas). Brooks enjoyed all of his company and I did too!!!

The last two weeks of December have been spent at home and in NOLA. Brooks was able to visit his Paw Paw Sammy in his new hospital. Both Maw Maw and I agree that Brooks' sweet laughter was the perfect medicine for Paw Paw! I put Brooks in the bed and wrapped Paw Paw's arm around him. Mr. Sammy instantly started rubbing his pants leg. He loves this boy! That was a great experience until Brooks tried to grab his oxygen tube! I had to grab his little hand very quickly!

We also celebrated Christmas with our Kurtz family while we were there. Brooks slept through most of it! When we got home to have our Mommy and Daddy Christmas, he was definitely awake and has had a great time playing with all of his new toys.

Brooks has become a little BUSY BODY!! He rolls over both ways constantly, laughs SO loud all the time, and now can wave bye-bye. I think he thought I was crazy the first time I saw him wave! His Mommy was screaming with excitement! These are the big moments around here! Oh, and he has started solid foods. And of course LOVES THEM ALL... especially SQUASH! My boy loves his food.

I'm going to try to rest as much as possible this month... in preparation for the next step... CRAWLING! I can't wait to see it but I am tired just thinking about it!

Thanks again for loving our baby boy and watching him grow.
Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas! Happy New Year from the Kurtz family!
