A Letter To Our First Born Baby Boy!

It is hard to believe that in just a week and a half, we will welcome a second baby boy. Our baby boy Brooks has made our lives so special. We've never smiled so much, taken so many pictures, and been so silly as we are now.

A friend just shared this letter with me that she'd written in her son's baby book:

Dear First Born,
I've always loved you so very much because you were our first miracle. You were the genesis of a marriage and the fulfillment of young love. You were new, had unused parents, and enough clothes for a set of triplets. You were the original model for a mom and dad who were trying to work the bugs out. You got all the monogrammed clothes, the new toys, your own schedule, and complete undivided attention (even as you slept!). You were the beginning!

We love you so much, sweet Brooks! Thank you for being the 1st love of our lives!

July Fun!!

July has been a BUSY month for Brooks Carter Kurtz! I don't feel like we (definitely not him) have sat still!! Because guess what???? Brooks is WALKING!!! Our little baby kong is roaming the house at full steam ahead! It all started on the 4th of July and he has become a little toddling expert in the weeks since. Brooks also got his haircut this month. His Daddy DID NOT want me to take his boy for a haircut.. but poor Brooks was sporting a not-so-cool mullet. That Brooks is such a precious boy with his more polished look... Daddy Chad loves it too!

Brooks Rolling Over

I have no idea why this is just posting! I just saw that it was only available as a draft.. but has now been published. Even though this was clearly a long time ago... it is too precious not to share.


Our Brooks can now ROLL OVER!! He first started this trick at 5 weeks and only did it a time or two. Today he started rolling over nonstop! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Dear Brooks, Happy Birthday to YOU!

Brooks had an amazing 1st birthday celebration with all of our family! Thank you all for making his day so special. We had so much fun celebrating our birthday boy! Just wanted to share some pictures with all of you.

Can you believe this precious newborn boy....

is now this BIG handsome 1 year old boy??

His Daddy and I sure can't! A WHOLE YEAR has passed since our sweet Brooks Carter was born. This year has FLOWN by... way TOO quickly! I love this age and stage with him. Each day is something new and I feel so LUCKY to watch him grow! His first birthday party was so much fun... and oh so special for all of our family! Expect a photo bomb of birthday pics in my next post! :)

Let's start off with his stats (which I accidentally deleted the scale picture.. dumb mommy!). Big boy Brooks weighs 28.8 pounds and is 32 inches long. This puts him in the 100% for weight and the 95% for height. He's a big one! And we love every little pound and inch of that chunky little body!!!

He's also had a big month of firsts! My biggest excitement is that he said his first word. Not mama, not dada.. but "cat, cat!." Aside from "cat, cat" and sweet baby babble, he can also say "hey," "bye," and "yay." Brooks can also stand on his own! And he walks all over our house pushing his walking toy (or grocery cart as we call it). He's even taken a couple of first steps! We are PROUD parents! Brooks can also dance and clap his hands. His growing personality is so cute and fun to watch!
